Cemetery Rules and Regulations
REGULATIONS OF HICKORY FLAT CEMETERY
1. The purchase of all graves requires a deposit equal to one half the purchase price, with the remaining balance due within 3 months.
2. No graves will be held longer than (30) thirty days without payment of a deposit .
3. An individual on fixed income may purchase a single grave without a specified deposit amount and make regular payments until full payment has been made. In the event any individual on a fixed income is responsible for an adult dependent child they may purchase a grave in this manner for that child.

5. No burial will be made or foundations poured or monument set until full payment has been made for the grave.
6. If not paid in full in the 3 month period, the township has the right to return 80% of the money paid, and said lot will be available for sale. (ORC 517.07)
7. The St. Clair Township Board of Trustees reserves the right to refund monies paid for graves on delinquent accounts.
8. No shrubbery, trees, or flowers may be planted on a grave.
9. All flowers and decorations will be removed from graves (7) seven days following Funerals and all major holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). All Decorations will be removed from the cemetery each year beginning the first Monday in March for (5) five days.
10. Cemetery Hours are as follows:
October 1 to March 31--------------8:00 A.M. to 6:00P.M.
April 1 to September 30--------------8:00 A.M to 9:00P.M.
11. Foundations are only poured 2 times a year – In May and in October.
12. Foundation will not be poured between the 1st of October for the fall pouring and March 15th of each year due to the possibility of freezing. Township WILL NOT set the headstones ordered from the internet, you must provide someone to set for you. St. Clair Township will not be responsible to set headstone memorials.
13. All mowing will be done by the Township Crew. No power tools are to be used in the cemetery by individuals other than township employees. Hand trimming may be done by individuals.
14. Grass or Sod shall be planted as soon as possible by township employees to maintain uniform appearance of the cemetery. (Ground settling and weather will determine the time limit
MONUMENTS
· Monuments may not be delivered to the cemetery until all foundation work has been completed

Monuments on a single grave may not exceed 42” in length. (Double grave marker not over 7’) a six inch boarder is added.

Homemade monuments and or markers may not be set on any grave.

No monument may be set without full payment of grave or graves

St. Clair Township WILL NOT set any headstones ordered from the internet, you must provide someone to set for you.
